US Payment Firm Yuno Joins Forces with Nigeria’s Flutterwave

Yuno, the global financial infrastructure platform, has announced a strategic partnership with Flutterwave Inc, an African payment technology company, to streamline payments for businesses expanding into Africa.

Through a single API integration, Yuno merchants can now activate Flutterwave’s comprehensive local payment methods, including cards, mobile money, and bank transfers across key African markets instantly, eliminating the complexity and cost of multiple local integrations, according to a statement on Tuesday.

It said the partnership would address the significant barriers global businesses face when entering Africa’s fragmented and diverse payments landscape. “By combining Yuno’s unified global payments platform with Flutterwave’s extensive on-the-ground presence and regulatory reach, merchants gain seamless access to payments in Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Rwanda, South Africa, and more, all managed via a centralized Yuno dashboard that simplifies operations and reconciliation,” the statement said.

“Expanding into Africa has been a complex and resource-intensive challenge for many global businesses,” said Juan Pablo Ortega, CEO and Founder of Yuno. “By partnering with Flutterwave, we’re giving our merchants a single, scalable solution to access Africa’s dynamic markets faster and with much less friction.”

He said the partnership empowers businesses to unlock new growth opportunities on the continent with the confidence that their payments infrastructure is robust and fully compliant.

Flutterwave brings deep local expertise and regulatory licenses, enabling enterprise-grade scalability for Yuno’s clients that can start in one market and rapidly expand across the continent without the need for separate contracts or technical builds, according to the statement.

“Africa’s payment landscape is incredibly vibrant but historically fragmented,” said Olugbenga “GB” Agboola, Founder and CEO, Flutterwave. “We’ve spent years doing the heavy lifting, integrating hundreds of local payment methods and securing licenses across the continent to build a single payment superhighway. By partnering with global orchestration leaders like Yuno, we are opening up those rails, bringing the power of Africa’s payment rails to global merchants with unprecedented speed and simplicity.”
